Is The Pope About To Be Arrested?

Pope Benedict, or Joseph Ratzinger as his legal name states, recently announced his resignation from the title of Pope at the Vatican. As the leading figure for the Catholic Church the announcement was a huge shock to the Catholic community. The last pope to resign was 600 years ago in the 1400s. However it appears that the Pope may not be as noble as many have said of his decision.

Addicting Info is reporting that Ratzinger is allegedly seeking immunity from the Italian court system. On February 23 there is apparently a meeting with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano to beg for immunity. The Pope is accused of child sex crimes, and along with other leading figures accused of sheltering child sex offenders in the church. The Vatican though has announced that Ratzinger will be a permanent resident even after he resigns. This will protect him from any and all cases brought against him in connection to sexual assault cases across the world.

  2. Everything we've researched appears to indicate the story is accurate. Reuters recently had a story covering a part of what we covered, about the pope having immunity in the Vatican.
