President Obama made history in his inaugural address today mentioning the word "gay" and the issue of gay rights for the first time in a speech at the presidential swearing in.
"Our Journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like everyone else under the law for if we are truly equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well," Obama said in his address on the Capitol steps after his swearing in.
SUPPORT FOR ROE V. WADE GROWS

Seven in 10 Americans believe Roe v. Wade should stand, according to new data from a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, as the landmark Supreme Court abortion-rights ruling turns 40 on Tuesday.
That is the highest level of support for the decision, which established a woman's right to an abortion, since polls began tracking it in 1989. The shift is mostly the result of more Democrats backing the decision—particularly Hispanics and African-Americans—and a slight uptick in support from Republicans.

Many voters have said they'll cast ballots for Netanyahu because they see no viable alternative. Polls suggest hawkish and religious parties that have been his traditional allies will form the core of his next coalition government.

TAYLOR SWIFT PLANS TO STAY SINGLE

Country singer Taylor Swift has certainly had several albums worth of heartbreak, so perhaps it’s time that we all cool it with the relationship mocking? Never!
She was said to have written songs about Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and most recently, Harry Styles (5 songs on him alone!) so we’re guessing that her love life is totally fair game. She shouldn't put her business out there if she doesn't want people talking about it, right?

TEN YEARS LATER, OPPORTUNITY ON MARS IS STILL GOING
AP/NASA |
MARS – Opportunity, NASA's other Mars rover, has tooled around the red planet for so long it's easy to forget it's still alive.
Some 5,000 miles away from the limelight surrounding Curiosity's every move, Opportunity this week quietly embarks on its tenth year of exploration -- a sweet milestone since it was only tasked to work for three months.
"Opportunity is still going. Go figure," said mission deputy principal investigator Ray Arvidson of Washington University in St. Louis.
